Obituary: Clizer, Charles B. Jr.
Age 85
He was born August 30, 1927.
Charles was the first born of Charles and Katherine Clizer of Tekoa, Washington.
He graduateed from high school in 1945, while serving in the United States Coast Guard during the final years of WWII.
Charles received his BS from Washington State College with a double major in chemistry and zoology in 1949.
He received his M.E.L.
in 1953 from Eastern Washington College.
Charles was married to Merilyn Grace Pratt on June 25, 1949.
His activities in Dayton and Walla Walla included Chamber of Commerce, Kiwanis, and belonging to the Methodist Churches.
Charles also was active in the Community Concert Association, the Walla Walla Symphony, the Walla Walla Parks and Recreation Board, Salvation Army, Christian Aid Discovery School, Walla Walla County Health Board, the Democratic National Committee, Borleski Stadium Board, and Meals on Wheels.
He was an avid WSU Cougar fan.
Charles is survived by his wife of 63 years Merilyn; four children, Teresa (John) Jeffreys of Lacey, WA, Wes (Sharon) Clizer of Clarkston, WA, Claircy Clizer and Charlotte (Kraig) Klicker of Walla Walla, WA; nine grandchildren; four great grandchildren; his sister Mary Sue Thompson of Colfax, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Dr. Charles and Katherine Clizer.
Memorials may be given to Pioneer United Methodist Church in Walla Walla, WA, Charles B. Clizer, Jr. Graduate Fellowship in Education Administration at WSU, Camp Kiwanis Foundation of Walla Walla or any other charity of the donor’s choice to Herring Groseclose Funeral Home, 315 W.
