Age 60
Gertrud was born in Reilingen, Germany on April 14, 1952.
Gertrud is predeceased by her mother, Anna Maria, her father, Karl, and her brothers, Herbert and Karl-Heinz.
Gertrud is survived by her loving husband of 39 years, David.
They were married in Reilingen, Germany on December 21, 1973.
Gertrud is also survived by her children and grandchildren: Christoph Sams (Andrew Thompson, Tiaira Tedder-Moore and Alexis Sams), Tina Hitchens (Skyler and Ashton Hitchens) and Julie Morris (Nathaniel and Cora Morris); For many years Gertrud worked as a waitress at The Wagon Wheel, The Wheel, and Rancho los Patrios.
She made many friends there.
Gertrud enjoyed cooking and making candy.
She especially liked to knit and crochet.
Many babies were kept warm by one of her hand-made blankets.
A memorial service will be held at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Suncrest on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at 1:00 pm In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Spokane.
