New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie was never a fan of MTV’s “Jersey Shore,” saying it unfairly cast the state in a negative light. So when Nicole Polizzi, otherwise known as Snooki, got to meet the governor Friday and shake his hand, their exchange was a bit awkward.

Christie and “Jersey Shore” cast members appeared separately on NBC’s “Today” show during filming in Seaside Heights, N.J., to talk about the state’s recovery from Superstorm Sandy. In a later exchange captured on video by the Asbury Park Press, an unsmiling Snooki told Christie she hoped he would “start to like us.” Christie responded, “Well, we’ll do our best.”

After they parted ways, Snooki looked at the camera and said, “He just doesn’t like us.”

Stone Temple Pilots sue former singer

The Stone Temple Pilots accuse former frontman Scott Weiland of misusing the band’s name to further his solo career and want a judge to strip the rocker of his ability to use the group’s name or songs. Weiland and Stone Temple Pilots parted ways in February.

A lawsuit filed Friday in Los Angeles claims the band owns the rights to the name Stone Temple Pilots, and the band’s songs, copyrights and trademarks. The band wants a judge to block him from even calling himself a former member of the band.

Bynes arrested, allegedly threw bong

Actress Amanda Bynes appeared disheveled in a long blond wig and sweats Friday in a criminal court where she was charged with reckless endangerment after police said she heaved a marijuana bong out the window of her 36th-floor Manhattan apartment.

Bynes was arrested Thursday evening, after building officials at her midtown apartment called police to complain she was smoking pot in the lobby. The officers went to her apartment, where they said they saw heavy smoke and a bong sitting on the kitchen counter. They said she tossed the bong out the window in front of them – an allegation her lawyer disputed.

The judge released Bynes on her own recognizance and gave her a July 9 court date.
