The peas have split.
Street sweepers removed all the peas from the roadway and traffic is running normally again.

A semitruck hauling dried peas lost multiple boxes on westbound Interstate 90 just east of the Freya exit, according to a Washington State Patrol news release. The right and center lanes are blocked, covered in the lost legumes.
One vehicle hit one of the boxes, but no one was injured. A street sweeper is on its way.
The road will be blocked for several hours. According to Spokane’s Regional Transportation Management Center, traffic is slowed to 13 miles an hour.
