Obituary: Reed, Donald Arthur
Age 83
Donald was born September 20, 1930 in Chatcolet, Idaho to Fred and Florence Reed.
Donald attended and graduated from St. Maries High School in 1950.
He met Arlyss Sherrard and they were married in 1954.
They were later divorced after Donald joined the Army during the Korean Conflict.
They found each other again and were remarried in 1998.
Donald worked for Union Pacific before and after he joined the Army.
He later became a boiler maker until retirement.
He was a member of the Boiler Makers Union #242.
He is survived by his loving wife Arlyss, at the family home in Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho; one son Jason (Laura) Claffey of Sagle, Idaho; two stepdaughters, Carla Claffey of Vancouver, Washington, and Kirsten Odegaard of Snohomish, Washington; four stepsons, Brian (Jackie) Odegaard of Creswell, Oregon, Craig Odegaard of Bainbridge Island, Washington, Eric Odegaard of San Antonio, Texas, and Doug (Cheri) Odegaard of Post Falls, Idaho.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents, one sister Polly Williams, two brothers, Alfred Reed and Frederick Reed, and two wives Mary, and Ladonna.
Graveside Services will be held Friday, October 11, 2013 at 1:00 pm at Woodlawn Cemetery in St. Maries, Idaho.
The family suggests that memorials be made to Hospice of North Idaho at 9493 N. Government Way, Hayden, Idaho 83835.
