Obituary: Brewczynski, Sharon Alice

BREWCZYNSKI, Sharon Alice
December 2, 1940 - September 26, 2013

Sharon Alice Brewczynski passed away peacefully at home following a long battle with thyroid cancer.

She was born to Harry and Ione Kellogg in Pittsfield, Massachusetts.

She graduated from Northside HS in Fort Wayne Indiana in 1959 and she served in the US Marine Corp before marrying Stanley Leo Brewczynski in 1964.

Sharon raised a family before returning to school earning a RN degree from EWU in 1983.

She received her geriatric nurse practitioner certification in 1988 from UW.

Sharon provided outstanding nursing care to seniors and mentorship to fellow nurses for 30 years in the Spokane area.
Sharon was a voracious reader and she had a passion for learning as much as she could about our world.

She enjoyed following the royal family, thoroughbred horse racing, traveling and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

She was a staunch supporter of human rights, civil liberties and freedom for all, especially women.
Sharon was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley, infant son, John, son, David, her parents and her brother, John.

She is survived by her daughter, Deborah, son, James, daughter-in-law, Stacie, grandchildren Ashli (Mark) and Craig and great-grandchildren, Brooklyn and Cameron.
There will be no funeral per Sharon’s request.

A private family memorial will be held at a later date to scatter her ashes in a location of her choosing.
