Obituary: Armor, Judith Lois
Judy was born on December 20, 1944 to Eric and Ruth Armor in Eagle Pass, TX.
She was a devoted Girl Scout and an excellent student; receiving a full English scholarship after graduating from Orange High School in Orange, CA in 1962.
Judy married her high school sweetheart Terry Michael Swanson, and wholeheartedly took on the role of wife and mother.
Judy’s artistic and adventurous personality was apparent in her drawing and painting ability, and in her love of travel.
Her favorite travel stories were of sipping wine in an out-of-the-way French vineyard, eating sausages from street vendors in Austria, and traveling on her own by train through Europe.
She enjoyed camping at Yosemite; taking her daughters there and teaching them to love the forest, hiking, and even the occasional bear encounters.
She spent countless hours enjoying the California sunshine in Laguna & Newport Beach, CA.
Judy loved to square dance and was selected from a large number of applicants to dance in the Rose Parade.
She was an exceptionally hard worker, owned her own bookkeeping business, and raised her daughters on her own.
Her life-long strong Christian faith carried her though trying times, and was an inspiration as Judy joined various prayer and faith healing groups over the years.
The majority of Judy’s life was lived in Orange County, CA .
She relocated to Spokane, WA 15 years ago to become the devoted caregiver to her beloved mother.
Judy is survived by: her daughters, Deborah Jean (Swanson Baker) Garth of Riverside, CA and Karen Ruth (Swanson) Rickerson of Las Vegas, NV.
; grandsons Joshua Baker of Sanford, FL, Scott Baker of Pontefract, England, Cameron Rickerson of Las Vegas, NV, and Connor Rickerson, of Las Vegas, NV; brother James Armor, of Spokane, WA, sister Margaret (Peggy) McMahan of Venice, CA, and sister Ruth Fuselier, of Mead, WA.
She is preceded in death by her former husband, Terry Swanson of Bremerton, WA and her parents, Eric and Ruth Armor.
Judy’s love for God showed in every aspect of her life and she was a shining light to all who were blessed to know her.
She will be sorely missed by her family and friends.
At Judy’s request, she will be interred near her parents at Fairhaven Memorial Park in Orange, CA.
Services will be held at that time.
