Obituary: Cowell, Mary L.
Age 76
She was born in Friend, NE and graduated from Lincoln High School.
While in High School, music was her passion and she received a scholarship for college.
She instead married Airman Ronald Cowell, stationed in Lincoln, NE.
As a military family they relocated several times finally retiring in Spokane, WA in 1973.
Mary had many interests from home businesses (Amway, Cake Decorating, Raising Dogs, Adult Family Home, Exporting Company) while raising children or working full time.
She loved working at United Paint Company as their International Secretary while it prospered in the 1980s.
She enjoyed her hobbies of music, crafts, painting, caring for animals and spending time with her grandchildren.
She was a devoted Catholic, a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
She loved to spend time with her friends and was always willing to help others.
She is survived by her children: Ron Cowell, Patty Tresko, Theresa (John) Utecht, and Steve (Alena) Cowell; brother-in-law Richard (Helen) Mitchell and eight grandchildren: Jasmine and Megan Utecht, Katie (Dustin) Wing, Laura, Amanda and Monica Tresko, Fiona and Cade Cowell, and one great-grandson Jade.
She was preceded by death by her husband Ronald in 1982, sister Rosalie and brother Robert.
Mary’s family would like to thank Dr. Berdine Bender for her loving care.
A graveside service will be held for family only at Holy Cross Cemetery on October 26, 2013.
Reception will follow immediately at Garland Alliance Church Gym, W. 2011 Garland at 5:00 pm.
