Obituary: Mohney, Douglas Craig D.V.M.
Age 59
Douglas Craig Mohney, born May 3, 1954, passed away on September 30, 2013.
Doug was the son of Raymond Mohney and Connie (Weismann) Mohney Reed.
Born in Spokane, WA, Doug attended grades K-12 in the Mead School District.
He went on to college at Washington State University, where he received his doctorate in Veterinary Medicine.
Doug was a loyal cougar fan throughout his adult life.
In 1984, Doug met the love of his life, KimberLee Evans Mohney.
They were married for almost 25 years.
Together they raised their son, Daren Joseph Mohney, and their daughter, Andrea Michelle Mohney.
A very proud father, Doug adored his children.
Doug practiced veterinary medicine for many years, in both Washington and Idaho.
He was also a gifted writer.
Most recently, he was pursuing a dream of becoming a counselor.
Preceded in death by his mother, Connie, Doug leaves behind (in addition to his children and their mother) his father and step-mother, Ray and Rozella Mohney, his sister Pamela Mohney, his sister and brother-in-law Gayle and Hank Libutti, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Doug’s family would like to express sincere gratitude to the many healthcare professionals and others who have been there for Doug during the recent months of his life.
We know in our hearts that he is at peace at last.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 2, 2013 in the chapel of Greenacres Christian Church: 18010 E. Mission in Spokane Valley.
