Obituary: Nickerson, Eva M
Age 80
Eva was one of 13 children born in Fargo, ND, and passed away peacefully in Spokane Valley, WA.
Eva and her late husband, Ivan, loved to travel and work side-by-side in their yard doing all kinds of projects together, always welcoming their many friend and family to share a meal, play cards and listen to stories for hours on end.
One of Eva’s favorite pastimes was her love for her flower gardens and yard.
She always took great pride in how her flowers blossomed, feeding the little birds with bread and bird seed in the bird feeders that Ivan built.
She was always ready for a board game with the grandkids or card game with family and friends.
Eva is survived by her eldest son, Michael I. Nickerson; daughter, Susan M. King; and son, Mark I.
(Pamela L.) Nickerson; along with several siblings, nieces, nephews, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many friends who have been enriched by the Nickerson’s hospitality and generosity.
The Nickerson family would like to express heartfelt gratitude for the care and compassion in these difficult times from all the First Responders who were always ready to help at a moment’s notice, to all the staff at Valley Hospital and Medical Center, to the wonderful compassion and hospitality from the staff at Brighton Court Assisted Living and Purity’s Calico Cottage, and to the wonderful nurses and caregivers at Sullivan Park Skilled Nursing Center who truly helped Eva and her family during her final weeks, and also to those at Community Cremation for making the final transition as smooth as possible.
“At the heart of the cyclone tearing the sky And flinging the clouds and the towers by, Is a place of central calm; So here in the roar of mortal things, I have a place where my spirit sings, In the hollow of God’s palm.”
God has called us to peace.
1 Corinthians 7:15 THANK YOU…GOD BLESS YOU ALL!!!
