Trent/Mission motorcycle accident victim identified

The Spokane County Medical Examiner’s office has identified the victim in a fatal motorcycle accident Tuesday afternoon. Michael P. Lovas, 66, was riding a motorcycle when he collided with a truck on Trent Avenue and Mission Avenue at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday. Both drivers’ vehicles flipped. They were both taken to the hospital, Lovas with life-threatening injuries. Lovas later died as a result of massive blood loss due to blunt impact, according to the medical examiner. Spokane Police Department Major Crimes detectives from the Traffic Unit are investigating. Police are asking anyone who saw the accident to call Crime Check at (509) 456-2233.
