Obituary: Stadtmueller, Lois M.

Age 85

STADTMUELLER, Lois M. 11.23.1927 ~ 09.08.2013 Peacefully passed away on Sunday, September 8, 2013 in Spokane, Washington.

She was born Lois Maxine Fulwiler, in a small farm house on the great plains, near the town of West Hope, North Dakota.

Her family were homesteaders until they moved to Spokane in 1942.

She attended North Central and then Kinman Business College.

Her first job after graduating was in the credit department at the Crescent.

She married her husband of 60 years, Albert Stadtmueller, on May 23, 1953 at St. Joseph Church in Spokane.

She was a member of St. Joseph parish for many years.

The family moved to other parishes in Spokane, but St Joseph Church always held a special place in her heart.

They currently belong to St. Augustine Parish, where she has been for the last 40 years.

In addition to maintaining the household and eventually working with Al in the family business, Lois was active in the Catholic Daughters of America, Morning Star Boys Ranch Auxiliary, Poor Clare Nuns Fashion Show, CPA wives’ Auxiliary, Alpha Iota Sorority, and the Corbin Senior Center.

She valued her close friends and they formed a lifelong group lovingly known as the ‘sewing club’.

She especially loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Lois is survived by her husband, Al and their five sons and their wives: Chuck (Mary), Dan (Anne), Alan (Kim), Gary (Kathleen), and Roger (Belinda), twelve grandchildren, four grandson-in-laws, five great-grandchildren and her sister, Rita Kresek (Ray) and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Mary Fulwiler; sisters, Betty Louise Fulwiler, Barbara Prague and Helen Whitney; brother-in-law Ward Whitney; sister-in-law Dolores Kallas and nephews, Gregory Stoddart and Ronald Whitney.

The Viewing and the Vigil Service will be held on Thursday, September 12 at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home, 2203 N. Division.

The Viewing will be from 2pm to 7pm, followed by the Vigil Service.

The Funeral Mass will be held at 10 am on Friday, September 13 at St. Augustine Catholic Church.

Inurnment will follow on Saturday, September 14, at 1:30 pm at Holy Cross Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to Fr.

Joe’s endowment at Morning Star Boy’s Ranch, Poor Clare or charity of your choice.
