Obituary: Sebert, Arthur F.

SEBERT, Arthur F. “Art” Art F. Sebert, 80, passed peacefully into the hands of The Lord on Wednesday, September 18, 2013.

Art was born on March 25, 1933 to George and Maria (Kosters) Sebert at Java, SD, where he was raised.

After graduating from Bowdle High School, he helped on area farms until 1954 when he entered the Army.

He received his Honorable Discharge in 1956.

He married Melcina King on August 5, 1961.

Art was employed at various jobs including Paul’s Shell, Caterpillar, Coke Cola and retired from West Valley School District.

Art and Melcina ran an upholstery shop in their home for many years.

Art enjoyed garage sales, hunting, square dancing and the car club.

Survivors include four sons: Tim (Lynn) Sebert of Newman Lake, WA, Don (Connie) Sebert of Spokane, Russell (Selina) Sebert of Puyallup, WA, and George (Kim) Castor of Spokane, WA.

Three brothers: Leonard (Ramona) Sebert of Aberdeen, SD, Louie (Carol) Sebert of Mitchell, SD, and Raymond (Jane) Sebert of Spokane, WA.

Two sisters: Frances (Frank) Birkholt of Hot Springs, SD, and Dorothy (Richard) Berreth of Spokane, WA.

He leaves five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Art was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Leo, Al and George Sebert.

There will be no Funeral or Memorial Service as per his request.
