Obituary: Welker, Noel D. (Roberts)
Age 67
Noel was born December 22, 1946 in Seattle, WA.
Following a near-fatal bout with infantile pneumonia, Noel attended the routine of education in the primary and elementary school system of Seattle.
She lived and attended school at Fairchild AFB near Spokane, concurrent with her father’s call to military service during the Korean War.
Her family relocated permanently to Spokane in 1957.
Noel continued her pre-college schooling at Stadium Primary School, J.J. Browne Elementary School, and Shadle Park High School.
She commenced college studies in 1965 at Gonzaga University in Spokane, switching over to Washington State College at Pullman, WA., graduating there in 1970 with a BA degree.
In 1969, Noel married David F. Welker of Spokane, WA.
Three children came: Todd in 1972, Tyler in 1975, and a daughter, Stacy, in 1979.
Her husband’s vocation as mechanical engineer took the family to Seattle, WA., Orlando, FL., Chicago, IL., and Detroit, MI.
In 1977, the family relocated to Vancouver, WA., where most of it remains to present day.
With children grown and gone, Noel began working at a local nursing home, eventually becoming a certified nurses aide, licensed to practice privately, which she did right up to just a few years prior to her passing.
Noel showed herself to be an able mother and homemaker.
Her spirit, pluck, and determination were vital, even essential, to the preservation and well-being of her family through considerable turmoil and relocations.
Noel is survived by former husband, David F. Welker of Ocean Park, WA; son, Todd Welker of Vancouver, WA., daughter, Stacy Welker, also of Vancouver, WA., son, Tyler Welker of Anchorage, AK., and brother, Dennis P. Roberts of Spokane, WA.
