Obituary: Staley, Cheryl Ann

Age 68

STALEY, Cheryl Ann (Age 68) Was born on May 24, 1945 to Audrey and Walter Ostrander, and passed away in Spokane on April 5, 2014.

Cheryl graduated from Rogers High School in 1963.

She worked for Farm Credit Banks for 21 years, achieving the position of Corporate Secretary/Director of Adminstration and Office Services In November 1979.

She was the first female senior officer in the history of the Farm Credit Banks headquartered in Spokane.

In 1985, she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis and was forced to retire in 1987.

Cheryl enjoyed boating at Lake Pend Oreille and spending time at her parents place on the Spokane River.

She loved her pets and her flowers.

She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Ken, at their home in Creston; son Darin (Jessica) Staley of Mead; grandchildren Kody and Tyler; her mother Audrey Wittkopf; sisters Dixie Mize and Nancy Kaelber and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father Walter Ostrander, her stepfather Harold Wittkopf, and sisters Linda Paulus, Mary Lou Anthony and Susan Bruneau.

A memorial service will be held at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home on Saturday, April 19th at 11:00 am.
