Announced Syracuse sophomore forward Jerami Grant is entering the NBA draft. The 6-foot-8 Grant started 20 of 32 games for the Orange this season, averaging 12.1 points and a team-leading 6.8 rebounds.

• Michigan sophomores Nik Stauskas and Glen Robinson III have decided to enter the NBA draft.

Aaron Gordon and Nick Johnson are leaving Arizona for the NBA. Johnson led Arizona with 16.3 points per game last season while proving to be one of the nation’s best perimeter defenders. Gordon was named the Pac-12 freshman of the year after averaging 12.4 points and 8 rebounds per game.

• Eugene is bidding to bring track and field’s world championships to the United States for the first time. The International Association of Athletics Federations says the Oregon city is one of three candidates in contention for the 2019 championships, along with Doha, Qatar, and Barcelona, Spain. The host city will be announced in November.

Postponed A judge in Los Angeles has postponed a hearing on rape charges against former NFL All-Pro safety Darren Sharper to await the results of an upcoming bail hearing in Arizona on a separate case alleging sexual assault.

Signed The San Francisco 49ers have signed wide receiver Brandon Lloyd to a one-year contract. He was a member of the 49ers from 2003-05, when he caught 105 passes for 1,510 yards and 13 touchdowns. He sat out last season.

Returning Former Minnesota State, Mankato, football coach Todd Hoffner says he’ll return to his old job after an arbitrator ruled he was wrongly fired and ordered reinstatement with back pay. He’d since taken a job at Minot State and says he’ll be “forever grateful” to that school. Hoffner’s dismissal came after he’d been accused, then cleared, of having pornographic images of his children on a work-issued cellphone.

Chad Johnson is back on a football field. The former NFL receiver who once went by the last name of Ochocinco is in a minicamp this week with the CFL’s Montreal Alouettes. Johnson last played an NFL game in the 2011 season.

Pleaded A Virginia State football player Lamont Britt has pleaded guilty to assaulting Winston-Salem State starting quarterback Rudy Johnson during a luncheon before their game in November. A judge sentenced Britt to 45 days in jail, suspended for one year and probation for a year.
