Obituary: Houger, Kelly

Age 37

HOUGER, Kelly June 10, 1976 - April 12, 2014 Was born in Spokane and spent his pre-school years in Indianapolis, Indiana, and Ontario, California.

He returned to the Spokane West Plains area in 1979 where the family lived on a small acreage.

Kelly attended Medical Lake School where he graduated in 1994.

As part of his high school experience he attended the Skill Center where he was a natural in the machine shop.

He continued his education at Spokane Community College and ultimately became a Machinist.

Kelly worked in various shops in Spokane and Coeur d’Alene, his most recent employment being with Shamrock Machining.

As a youngster, Kelly especially enjoyed spending summers at his grandparents’ ranch in Creston.

There he worked in the woods with his grandpa and flew model airplanes with his uncle, Bob Jones.

During harvest time he would ride in the grain truck with his aunt Karen.

In 1995 Kelly married his high school sweetheart, Dawnell Lewis.

They located in Rathdrum, Idaho, where they raised their two children, Dakota and Katelynn.

The couple were later divorced.

Kelly is survived by his parents, Judy Hoseid and Terry Houger; sibling Amy Dickey, and children: Dakota, Katelynn, and Kellie Rae Houger.

Memorial service will be held Saturday, May 10th at Good Samaritan Community Center, 17028 E. 8th Ave, Spokane Valley 99016.
