Obituary: Juel, Vera
Vera Grace Juel was the 6th of 10 sisters born to William and Anna (Bourassa) Parent on March 8, 1926 on the family homestead in Flaxville, MT.
She passed April 2, 2014 at the home of her daughter in Peerless, Mt.
surrounded by her daughters.
Vera grew up on the farm in Flaxville, attended school in Flaxville and married Norman Juel on Oct 21, 1945 in Scobey Mt.
They lived and worked on the Juel farm north of Scobey while rearing a family of 8 - 5 boys and 3 girls.
Vera worked at the Scobey radio station, also with the Glasgow Mayor and the Fort Peck Water Project, and later worked for Spokane Community College in Spokane.
Vera came to Spokane approx 30 years ago and loved every minute of the “big city”.
She was busy, busy, busy!!!
Whether it was garage sales, bingo or dancing she lived life to the fullest - she had a happy life here!
Vera is preceded in death by two sons, Darryl, a Lance Corporal in the Marines who died in Vietnam in 1967; and Gordon, who died in 1993 in New York City; her parents as well as many other family members and son in law Dale Marko.
Vera is survived by her husband Norman in Scobey, sons Don (Marcy) in Spokane, Paul (Anne) in Scobey.
MT, Grant in Boise, ID., daughters Dorthea (Terry) in Peerless, MT., Cecelia in Spokane, and Teresa (Gene) in Watford City ND.
She had 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
She will be missed by many and we smile knowing heaven has a new dance instructor!!

A family service was held in Scobey on April 7th.
