YAMADA, Suzie Suzie Shinohara Yamada went home to be with our Lord on Saturday, July 19, 2014.

She was born in Seattle, WA on August 18, 1930; the daughter of Shigeo Shinohara and Shizu Kobukuro Shinohara.

Orphaned at the age of eight, Suzie, along with her three older brothers, was moved to the Spokane’s Children’s Home.

She married George Tatsuo Yamada on June 23, 1951.

They called Hobart, New York their home.

Suzie very much loved raising her six children.

Her many friends appreciated her sweet attitude and her quiet strength.

Suzie enjoyed her time being on Scotch Valley Ski Patrol, golfing, fishing, playing pinochle, cooking and traveling with the family.

She was a Matron with the Stamford Order of the Eastern Star #303, active in the community theater, Hobart United Methodist Church, and the UMC Women’s Group.

George and Suzie returned to Spokane after 23 years to care for George’s parents.

Nothing made her happier than enjoying her family and being an active Grandma.

She was involved with the Highland Park United Methodist Church.

She will be forever loved and missed by her husband of 63 years, her children: Catherine (Glenn) Rappleyea of Hobart, New York, Linda (Patrick) Kern, Gerald (Dawn) Yamada, Patricia (Christopher) Marinos, John (Renea) Yamada all of Spokane, and Greg Yamada from Monroe.
