Obituary: Tai, Elaine Markham
Age 84
She was born to James and Irene Markham in Honolulu on April 13, 1930.
She graduated from Roosevelt High School and the University of Hawaii’s Teachers College.
She was the loving wife of Lieutenant Colonel William K. Tai, US Army Retired.
She is survived by her children, Kenneth (Lola), Kathleen, Keoni, Kurtis (Marie), nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Elaine was a past President of the Liberty Lake Nine Hole Golf Club and an avid golf player.
She traveled as a military wife in Europe and many military assignments with her husband and children.
She loved the Spokane area and its people.
A longtime member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary’s on Monday, August 11, 2014 at 7pm.
Memorial gifts can be made to the Catholic Charities of Spokane.
