Obituary: Wendlandt, Arvin
He was a loving husband, dad, grandpa, great-papa and friend.
He was born and raised at Reardan, WA and attended school there.
He married Betty Campbell on November 11, 1944.
He worked on his dad’s farm for a few years, and then worked at the Reardan School as a janitor and bus driver.
In 1951 they moved to the farm and started farming.
At one time, he had the highest wheat yield per acre in Lincoln County.
In 1986, after 35 years of farming, Arvin retired.
They enjoyed traveling in their motorhome, attending area Bible camps, fishing and just being together.
Always wanting to try city life, in 2001, Arvin and Betty moved to an apartment in Spokane.
He was a devoted Christian, serving the Lord faithfully his entire life and dedicated his time as superintendent, board member, and usher at Assembly of God churches in Davenport and Spokane.
Arvin remained strong after Betty passed away in 2007.
He is survived by his children: Elvis Wendlandt and Lisa, Paul (Kathy) Wendlandt, Bethene (David) Cassaro, and Beverly Reach and Don; 12 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
We want to sincerely thank Pine Ridge Alzheimer’s Care Center for the wonderful care, kindness, love and support they showed our dad and family the past four years.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 10am at Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church, 4224 E. 4th Avenue in Spokane, WA 99202.
A burial will follow at Reardan Cemetery in Reardan, WA.
