Obituary: Sauceda, Raul

Age 67

SAUCEDA, Raul (Age 67) After an extended illness, Raul Sauceda entered into rest on August 15, 2014.

Born on December 19, 1946 he was the oldest of eleven children born to Ramon and Alamar Sauceda.

In his life he was known by many titles: son, brother, husband, father, uncle, papa and friend.

He worked a variety of jobs as a young man but spent the majority of his adult life as a steelworker at Kaiser Aluminum, a job he was proud of and worked hard at.

He was proud to have served in the U.S. Army where he served in Vietnam from 11/68-11/69 and again from 7/70-4/71.

His hobbies included fishing, camping, hunting, woodworking, leather work, softball, bowling and gardening.

He enjoyed having company in these but took a special pleasure in sharing these hobbies with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his siblings, Raymond Sauceda, Zero (Sandy) Sauceda, Abel Sauceda, Oscar Sauceda, Sam (Jill) Sauceda, John Sauceda, Yolanda (Mark) Kraintz, Eleticia Barker, Ruthie Cruz, and Elizabeth Medina.

His daughters Kathaleen (Joe) Krass, Mary Smith, Jennifer Booher and Serenity (Jason) Longacre.

He was proud papa to eleven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and an uncle.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his friend and ex-wife, Theresa Ryan.

A memorial service will be held at Pasadena Park Church of the Nazarene, 8822 E. Upriver Dr., Spokane WA 99212, on September 6, 2014 at 2:00pm.

A potluck dinner will be held immediately following the service for those who wish to attend.
