Obituary: Prince, Steven Louis
He was a loving and sweet little boy with many ambitions and interests.
He graduated from Shadle Park High school in 1967 where he was a Shadle Park Highlander and played the drums for the Pipe Band, he wore a kilt and all of the Irish attire, He was also on the varsity swim team.
He graduated in 1967 and went directly in to the Navy and went off to bootcamp.
Upon his return that year Steve married Twila.
After just a few weeks of marriage he was sent to Guam and his ship was stationed there.
He came home once for leave and the ship did several runs to Vietnam.
While he was gone his daughter Alicia was born and he got to see her for the first time when she was a month old.
Upon his return from service he worked for Payn’Pak and then the Ford dealership, but then he took after his father and was a truck driver for many years.
He drove long haul, delivered food to local grocery stores and drove mail back and forth to Seattle.
After leaving that profession he found a few other occupational interests but ultimately he found himself right back in the drivers seat driving for the Spokane Transit System.
He had a passion for cars, motorcycles and boats his whole life and had quite an array of different makes and models.
He had a need for speed you could say or for something shiney.
And there was always pride in ownership, meaning they were always immaculately cleaned and polished.
He also loved music and dancing and was a great dance partner.
Steve was a great father and a great provider.
He was fun loving guy and a great friend.
His whole life he had a lot of friends.
He helped raise three additional incredible children throughout his life’s journey and loved all of his kids very much.
Steve found his desire for the Lord later in life.
He always knew due to his upbringing, as his mother was a very strong loving Christian woman, but he didn’t always follow.
He was on a constant move towards God for many years and that progression was thrust forward in the past few years.
He loved Jesus with all of his heart and trusted Him and His word.
He dove in to reading the Bible and Christian books and grew closer than he had ever been to the Lord.
In this past year he was the closest he had ever been.
And there was visibly peace and happiness.
Steve found love with his wife Belinda later in life than most people do.
But it was a love that made it almost impossible for him to stop smiling.
He was never more happy and at peace.
His daily walk with the Lord was at its strongest and his love was at its height.
He was in love, and he was loved, and he was excited about it and wanted everyone to know.
Life celebration will be held Saturday, December 6, 2014, 4:00 PM at Victory Faith Fellowship, 2024 N. Argonne Rd.
