Obituary: Ferguson, Gale

FERGUSON, Gale Gale passed away at Hospice House North on November 7, 2014.

He was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 1999, however, like others with this diagnosis, he had a good quality of life for several years.

He and his wife, Carol, traveled to many wonderful places.

He also enjoyed playing bridge with friends, a bit of golf, tennis with the guys and mixed doubles on Wednesdays.

However, the best of times, for three generations of family were spent at our cabin on Lake Sherry.

Gale is the son of Helen and Kenneth Ferguson.

He grew up in Davenport, Washington and graduated from high school with the class of 1953.

He then attended Gonzaga University where he sang with the men’s glee club.

Those men became truly special lifelong friends.

He also sang with the Spokane Symphony Chorale, as well as the Messiah and Central Lutheran Church choirs for many years.

Gale is survived by his wife, Carol, and four daughters.

Colleen Jorgensen (Steve, Ann, Val and her husband Bill Strange and their children, Rose and Billy).

Sharon Fritschler (Tom, Nicholas and Claire).

Jill Morrison (Shawn, Kate, Dylan, Lexi and their children Blayk and Winslow) and Jane and Kenny Belinfante.

He is also survived by his sister, Gladys, and some great first cousins and nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2014, at 11 a.m. at St. Luke Lutheran Church, 9706 N. Division in Spokane.
