Obituary: Taylor, Phillip A.
Age 54
Phil was born in St. Maries, ID on April 25th, 1960.
From his early high school years in Rosalia, WA, he showed an aptitude and love of all things electronic.
After moving to Spokane, he began a professional career that would always combine his unique gifts.
Phil had the analytical precision of an engineer, the creative vision of an artist, and a giving heart of a true servant of God.
His talents and passion were displayed at Sound Recording Company, Steinley’s Photochart, Electronic Service Center, and finally at Gonzaga University, where he was proud to have served as Chief Engineer of GUTV from 2003 until his death.
Phil is survived by his mom and dad, William and Marilyn Taylor of St. Maries; his sons Adam and Matthew; and the love of his life, his wife of 30 years, Diana; brothers Mike and David; sister Annette; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews along with his beloved dog, Chloe who never left his side.
Dozens of Gonzaga broadcasting students are also feeling the pain of the loss of Phil’s physical presence, while they take the lessons he taught them into the professional world.
A visitation will take place Friday, December 12th from 9-10:30am at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 330 E. Boone, Spokane.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00am on Friday also at St. Aloysius.
All who loved Phil are invited to an on-campus reception following the Mass.
