Sonny was very well known and loved by many.
It was said that he had an infectious smile and laugh, and could lift your spirits just by talking to him.
He was a Kaiser retiree and an Army Vet.
He was an avid golfer loved to play the local courses.
He is survived by his wife Maralee Burnette and his children, Robert M. Burnette, Tempel C. Burnette, Bryson J. Burnette, Cisley A. McCarty, Angela J. Burnette, and 12 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
One of 14 children of Lillian and Henry Burnette he is also survived by his six remaining siblings, Juanita Leslie, Marva Robinson, Marcella James, Sally Burnette, James Burnette, Mary Burnette.
A Memorial Service will be held at Open Heart Chapel, 4123 N. Monroe Street, Spokane, WA, 99205 on Sunday, December 21st, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. All are welcome to attend.
There will be a small potluck style reception following at Open Heart Chapel.
