Obituary: Hayden, Allene

HAYDEN, Allene Devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Allene Hayden entered into rest December 10, 2014 at the age of 89.

Born in Spokane in 1925, she also lived in Pocatello, Oakley, and Burley ID, and in Asotin and lately in Spokane WA.

Allene was a stay-at-home mother who did volunteer work at hospitals, in Jaycees and Elks, and her church, serving on many committees and fundraisers.

Allene was well known for her German chocolate cakes, peanut brittle, craft projects, hospitality, and sense of humor.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Howard, parents, Geneva and James Eslick, her sister Jean and brothers Elmer and Tom.

She is survived by her daughter, Barbara (Butch) Slaughter and son, Howard (Karla) Hayden; granddaughters, Marcie (Dan) Meier, Jennifer (Ryan) Gee, Marit (Kevin) Vieths and Allison (Ryan) Rassmusen, and step granddaughter, Hillory Wright-Guillory and numerous nieces and nephews.

Her great-grandchildren, Hayden and Abbey Meier, Emma and Claire Gee, Hayden Rassmusen, and step great grandchildren Kiara and Carter Guillory gave her great joy.

The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and caregivers at Moran Vista the last four years, and Horizon Hospice in her last week.

Your compassion and care were so appreciated.

Allene’s faith in God and family was abiding.

A Memorial Service will follow in January.
