Obituary: Clouse, Eileen

CLOUSE, Eileen (Age 98) Eileen (Remmers) Clouse passed away December 22, 2014 after a full and rich life.

She was born August 13, 1916 at home on Indian Prairie, WA to Oliver E. and Gertrude R. (Hansen) Remmers.

Graduating from Reardan High School and Northwestern Business College, she worked for the Spokesman- Review in the Circulation Dept.

Eileen and Orville were married November 8, 1938 and farmed in the Reardan area until 1978.

She was life member of the Alumni Chapter of Alpha Iota International Business Sorority, and Pend Oreille County Historical Society, 75 year member of Spring Hill Grange (serving as secretary for 51 years), a member of Spokane County Pomona Grange (serving as Secretary for 19 years, and 22 years on the 5th Degree Drill Team), Washington State Grange (19 years as Recording Secretary during the Conventions), and National Grange.

She also was a needlework judge at County Fairs and Grange contests.

In later years she participated in the local SCOPE neighborhood watch program.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Orville in 1987, and brother Bud (Wayne) Remmers in 2011.

Eileen is survived by her sister-in-law, Lorene Remmers, and many precious nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held January 2, 2015 at 1:00pm at Ball and Dodd Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Gutzman officiating.

Interment will follow at Fairmount Memorial Park.
