Obituary: Sears, Sallie Jean

Age 57

SEARS, Sallie Jean Born December 15, 1956 in Concord, California to Lorna (Foss) and Chuck Sears, and died on Friday, January 31, 2014, surrounded by the love of family and friends.

Sallie grew up in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, and was a 1979 graduate of Coeur d’Alene High School where she was an enthusiastic band member.

She attended Whitworth College, was a graduate of Idaho State University in nursing, and earned a graduate degree from University of Washington as a nurse practitioner.

In Spokane, she was a pediatric oncology nurse manager and nurse practitioner at The Regional Center for Child Abuse and Neglect.

While in Spokane, Sallie met and married Brian Brothers and they became parents of Hana Scout Brothers.

She enjoyed the ocean with family, was a good and faithful friend to many, big animal lover, and college basketball enthusiast attending numerous games of her niece and nephew.

She was a caring aunt to nieces and nephews in Idaho, Washington, and New Jersey.

For many years, Sallie received extremely skilled and kind care from physicians, Dr. Wickre and Dr. Craig who helped her maintain a quality of life during her daily struggle with lupus.

Sallie was preceded in death by her beloved sister and friend, Debbie Dlouhy.

She is survived by her husband of twenty two years, Brian Brothers; her daughter, Hana Scout Brothers of Spokane, WA; and the Capaul, Dlouhy, Brothers and McFeaters families.

An interfaith memorial service will be at 2:00 pm on Saturday, February 8, 2014, in the chapel at the Convent of the Holy Names, 2911 W. Fort Wright Drive, Spokane, Washington, 99224.
