Obituary: Bledsoe, Maxine

Age 91

BLEDSOE, Maxine Maxine passed away peacefully on Febrary 10, 2014.

She was born in Spokane on October 29, 1922 to Joe and Stella Fennen, and raised on the family farm on Pleasant Prairie.

After graduating from West Valley High School, she married O.H.Parks and after WWII moved to Rosalia where the family lived for 15 years.

In 1967 Maxine married Paul Bledsoe.

Maxine worked for most of her adult life in the grocery business, including Albertsons for 30 years and retiring from her checking career from Bob’s Thrift Store.

Missing the grocery scene, she returned as a demo lady at Yokes and retired at age 84 due to health issues.

She claimed the Indian Trail Yokes employees as her second family.

Maxine was extremely active and always the life of the party.

Her favorite spot was Maui where she spent many vacations.

She enjoyed golfing, fishing, bowling, and being with family and friends.

She is survived by her three children, Stan (Irene) Parks, Marilyn (Mike) Garofano, and Gayle Sander; nine grandchildren, Butch Parks, Dwayne Parks (Vicki), Tony (Danielle) Parks, April (Jamie) FitzGerald, Billijo (Terry) Beck, Michael (Amy) Garofano, Mishal Garofano, Stephanie (Matt) Morkert and Steve (Kathryn) Sander, 20 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

She is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Paul.

The family would like to thank the staff and residents at Orchard Crest and the nurses at Hospice of Spokane for the love and care they gave Maxine.

At Maxine’s request, a private family burial is planned.
