Obituary: Anda, Richard David “Rick”

Age 62

ANDA, Richard David “Rick” Richard (Rick) David Anda, CPA, 62, passed away peacefully due to complications of cholangiocarcinoma on February 17, 2014.

He was born in Seattle on April 9, 1951 and attended Bothell High School.

After earning his Accounting degree from Washington State University, Rick returned to the Bellingham area where he married Irene Hawley, opened his accounting practice and spent 20 years raising his children Charlotte (Justin) Finnegan, Jeannette (Matt) Ring and Pete (Vanessa) Anda.

In 1999 Rick and Irene moved to Orcas Island where he continued his accounting practice and served his community as a volunteer firefighter and EMT, even becoming Captain of the East Side of Orcas Island.

Rick lived the last few years of his life in Spokane to be close to his grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Orcas Island Lion’s Club or the Orcas Island Volunteer Firefighters Association.

A memorial service will be held at the Salvation Army Chapel (222 E. Indiana, Spokane, WA) on Saturday, February 22 at 3:00pm.
