Pharmacy robbery case nets 25 new charges

Spokane Major Crimes detectives are requesting 25 new criminal charges against a trio suspected of eight pharmacy robberies in January. Jacy L. Thomson, Philip J. Powlus and Dale J. Cusick are each facing one count of conspiracy to commit second-degree robbery and seven counts of second-degree robbery. Cusick is also facing an additional count of attempted second-degree burglary. Police spokeswoman Monique Cotton said the trio has been connected to the pharmacy robberies at three Albertson’s stores, the Safeway at 3919 N. Market, the Fred Meyer at 400 S. Thor and two robberies at the Shopko on North Newport Highway. The attempted robbery was of the Albertson’s at 6520 N. Nevada. Thomson is currently being held in the Spokane County Jail. Cusick and Powlus are in the Geiger Corrections Facility.
