Sheriff’s Office looking for wedding jewelry thief
The Spokane County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a man they say stole a wedding jewelry set worth thousands of dollars from a Spokane Valley Mall store Friday afternoon.
Deputies responded to a theft call at the Zale’s jewelry store in the mall and found a car reported stolen from Sacred Heart Medical Center, according to a news release. Investigators do not know whether the thief drove to the mall in the stolen car.
Store employees reported the thief, described as a white man in his late 20s, ran north from the mall. Witnesses reported seeing the man hop into a waiting car behind a nearby business and take off, striking another vehicle nearby.
Authorities are looking at surveillance video from businesses in the area, according to the release. A cash reward is being offered for information that leads to an arrest in the case. Those with tips are asked to call Crime Stoppers at 800-222-8477 or submit them online at crimestoppersinlandnorthwest.org.
