ZURFLUH, Cecil L. (Age 78) Cecil was born on April 2, 1935 in Haddam, KS to J. Albert and Leona Zurfluh.

He passed away peacefully on January 3, 2014 in Spokane.

Cecil graduated from high school in Bentley, KS.

After graduation he joined the U.S. Navy, serving his country from 1957 - 1961.

Cecil was very involved with his church where he was a song leader, soloist, bus driver, treasurer, sound equipment operator, and he also helped to maintain the building.

He was involved with Gideon’s International from 1992-1997, Gleaners Food Bank from 1999-2011, and was a small farm operator.

Cecil also worked in Insurance sales for 30 years and eventually opened Pacific Northwest Agency, which he operated until 1997.

Cecil was preceded in death by his father J. Albert in 1983 and his mother Leona in 2005.

He is survived by his loving wife Virginia; children, Mark (Karen) Zurfluh of Post Falls, ID, Galen (Rosanne) Zurfluh of Arvada, CO, Gina (Scott) Spleiss of Coeur d’ Alene, ID, Bruce (Camille) Zurfluh of Newman Lake, WA, and Nicholas Zurfluh of Dallas, TX; as well as 14 grandchildren.

He is also survived by his stepchildren Pat (Cheryl) Wallace, Scott (Sheryl) Wallace and Keith Wallace as well as seven stepgrandchildren and five stepgreat-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 7, 2014 from 11:00AM-5:00PM and Wednesday, January 8, 2014 from 8:00AM - 5:00PM at Heritage Funeral Home.

A Memorial Service will be held at Otis Orchards Community Church on Thursday, January 9, 2014 at 1:00PM, 23304 E. Wellesley Ave, in Otis Orchards.

Memorial Contributions may be made in Cecil’s name to Morgan Acres Community Church Mission Fund or Gideon’s International.
