Seahawks notes: Harvin will play vs. New Orleans

From News Services

Wide receiver Percy Harvin will play for the Seattle Seahawks in Saturday’s NFC divisional playoff game against the New Orleans Saints after missing most of the season following hip surgery.

Seattle coach Pete Carroll said Harvin would play following Thursday’s practice. Carroll said there would be no limitations on how they can use Harvin, including being used on kickoff returns.

Harvin has played in just one game this season, in Week 11 against Minnesota, after undergoing surgery to repair the labrum in his hip in early August.

Jones makes Hall shortlist

Walter Jones, a nine-time Pro Bowl pick as a Seahawks left tackle from 1997-2008, was selected as one of 15 modern-era finalists for the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s Class of 2014.

The Hall of Fame selection committee will pick four to seven of the finalists to be the newest members of the hall when it meets on the day before the Super Bowl.

Jones has been considered one of the favorites to be elected in his first year on the ballot.
