Obituary: Brown, Lester L.

Age 76

BROWN, Lester L. On January 16, 2014, Lester L. Brown went home to be with the Lord.

A devoted family man and friend, he was greatly loved in life and will be sorely missed in passing.

Les was born on October 17, 1937, to Paul and Klela Brown.

In 1963, while working as a machine operator for SP&S Railroad, he was drafted into the Army.

Upon discharge, he went into construction and became a hod carrier until retirement in 1996.

He is preceded in death by his father and mother; son, David McKee; brother, Buck Brown; and sister, Patsy Dopp.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Mary Brown; daughters: Deborah (D.J.)

Moon-White and Cindy Cox, both of Spokane; sons: Jim McKee (Lisa) of Spokane, and Paul (Carie) of Indianapolis, Indiana; sisters: Betty Hall of Everett, WA, and Ardeth McConville (Ernest) of Central Point, Oregon; and brothers: Merle Harris (Pepita) of Madrid, Spain, and Ross Brown (Beverley) of Othello, WA.

Les was very fond of his pets and treated them like one of the family.

With that in mind, he is also survived by his cat, Mittens.

Spokane Cremation is handling arrangements.

A private memorial will be held in February.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Spokane Hospice.
