Obituary: Ferguson, Daniel Lynn
He was born January 6, 1933 to the late George and Hazel (Sweat) Ferguson in Chicago, IL.
He retired after 20 years of service with the US Coast Guard as a Senior Chief Engineer in 1969.
His service career took him and his family to Cleveland, OH, where he retired, Escanaba, MI, Isle Royale (Lake Superior), Honolulu Hawaii (aboard the ship Kakui), Vancouver, WA, Seattle, WA (aboard the cutter, North Wind), with early duty stations on the east coast.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Opal Nadine (Hull) Ferguson daughter of the late Lila and Roy Hull, Spokane, WA.
He is survived by two sons Daniel Wayne (Sharon), of Vancouver, WA, Ivan Lee (Nina) Ferguson of Washougal, WA: a daughter Diana Lynn (Rob) Norem of Sunriver, OR: five grand- children; Nicholas Ferguson, Samantha Ferguson, Janine (Ben) Lear, Jennifer (Brian) Logan and Steven Ferguson; and his sister Hazel G. Cook, of St Petersburg, FL; six great-grandchildren.
He is also survived by his second wife Judy (Grubb) Ferguson in Plainfield, IN; a step-son, Joseph (Claire) Hollenbaugh: two step-daughters, Jill A.
(Richard) Schroering and Tricia (Jeremy) Matis; 12 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Memorial services are planned for May in Spokane, WA where he will be interred at Spokane Memorial Gardens.
