Obituary: Fortier, Gary

Age 73

FORTIER, Gary (Age 73) Gary Fortier passed away unexpectedly on July 5th of 2014 in Spokane WA with his family by his side.

He is survived by his wife, Sara; son, Craig, daughter in law (Lisa); and three grand- children; as well as brothers, Tab and Andre and their families.

He was preceded in death by his son, Antony; his step father, Arthur D. Hall; mother, Lise’ LeMons; father, Froncel Fortier; brother, Michael; and sister, Michelle.

Gary was born on October 13th 1940, and raised in Los Angeles CA.

He joined the armed services becoming a paratrooper in the 101st Airborne Division.

He spent over 40 years in the health care industry as a Surgical Technologist, most of which took place in Culver City and Auburn CA.

He was a private pilot, a scout leader, a joke teller, and a man of compassion who always made those around him smile.

He retired to Spokane in 2010 and became a local sports enthusiast, and loved his days as a full time “Papa.”

Services will be held July 15th in Auburn, CA at the New Auburn Cemetery.

There will be a celebration of life in Spokane later in the summer.
