Obituary: Melcher, Charlene “Toni”

MELCHER, Charlene “Toni” (McLaren) Charlene is currently enjoying her new life in Heaven with Jesus, having died suddenly of unknown causes at her home in Deer Park, WA, on April 17, 2014.

She was born on July 16, 1938 to Arthur McLaren and Margaret Snyder in Wenatchee, WA, where she grew up and graduated from high school.

Mother Margaret died in the spring of 1939 and dad remarried Lora Pace.

Charlene lived most of her adult life in the areas of St. Maries - Plummer - Worley, Idaho and Rockford - Spokane - Deer Park, WA.

She was very friendly and always eager to help others.

Her favorite pastimes included various handcrafts such as beading and knitting, cooking and baking.

Family and friends became grateful recipients of most of her efforts.

She is survived by her son Michael Cozzetto of Colbert, WA; granddaughters Angela Vann (Brian) of Deer Park and Michele Asterino of Spokane; eight great-grandkids and one great-great- grandchild; Mother Lora McLaren, brother A. L. “Roy” McLaren (Tamara), uncle Richard McLaren (Patricia) of Wenatchee, WA; sister Betty Benefiel (Charles) of Spokane; numerous nieces, great-nieces, nephews, great-nephews, cousins and her BFF Karen Fisher.
