Obituary: Richardson, Lowell V.

RICHARDSON, Lowell V. Lowell Virden Richardson passed away June 27, 2014.

Born December 18, 1934 in Willamina, OR, to Joseph and Beth (Virden) Richardson.

He was raised in Goldendale, WA, and graduated from Goldendale High School in 1952.

Lowell married Virginia Lee Gosney June 27, 1953 in Goldendale.

The young couple made their home in Ephrata where Lowell worked for the Washington State Highway Department.

They moved around Oregon and Washington, settling in Wilbur, WA in 1955, shortly after Lowell began his career with Pacific Northwest Telephone Company.

He retired in 1994 after nearly 40 years in the telephone industry.

Lowell was a past member and president of Wilbur Lions Club, past president of North Central Council of Telephone Pioneers, and a member of Wilbur Senior Citizens.

He and Virginia were honored as Wilbur’s Citizens of the Year in 2004.

Lowell was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Gloria, and grandson Michael Nolt.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Virginia; children Lowell Glen (Allyn) Richardson, Kim (Bill) Nolt, and Ryan (Saule) Richardson; grandchildren Josh Nolt, Nicki Denman (fiancĂŠ Nathan Wagner), Jasmine, Courtney, Caitlin, Dylan, Elizabeth Richardson; great-grandchildren Sierra and Spencer Denman, Drake, Kaleb, Lily Nolt; brothers Ken and Russ Richardson; numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held August 16, 2014, 2:00 p.m. at Creston Christian Church.
