Obituary: Hooper, Patty L.

Age 75

HOOPER, Patty L. April 15, 1939 - July 19, 2014 She was born in Spokane, WA and was a lifelong resident of Spokane, WA.

She was born to Charles and Carrie Greear.

She had 10 siblings, three of which are living: Mariliee, Judy, Michael and many nieces and nephews.

She then met her one and only true love, Bob Hooper.

They were soon married in Coeur d’Alene in 1956.

Both of them eagerly started their beautiful family of seven: Dave, Jim, Doris, Ronald, John, Steve, and Russell.

They both left behind 22 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren that they all dearly loved.

Our mother’s enjoyments in life were her family and friends, also the love of baseball as she was a great baseball player growing up with a wicked arm!

Her favorite team was the Mariners.

She also loved to go to the casino, playing the slots as always, with her best friend Dine.

Even though they usually lost more than they wanted too, she never let that get her down for too long, just usually a kick in the butt!

Our mother was the greatest caretaker of all.

She was always the glue that kept us together and the rock that kept us grounded.

She has never let us down.

She always made sure to let us know of her love for us; no matter what our faults were, she always made sure to “put us in our place”, as she would say.

Mom, you will truly be missed by all that have crossed your path.

Even if it was a brief moment, you are unforgettable in our eyes.

You have left us all with great parts of you in ourselves that will be missed deeply.

We will always see your smile, your frowns, and hear your laughter and your words guiding us.

We say goodbye to you, mom, but not forever.

As we know you are now with our dad, laughing together once again like we all picture you guys are!

Thank you for all our memories of you that will give us strength to keep living on as a family, as you would have wanted it to be!

See ya around Mom and Dad.

A graveside service will be held at 2:30pm on Friday, July 25, 2014 at Fairmount Memorial Park, 5200 W. Wellesley.

A potluck will follow at Patty’s residence.
