Obituary: Crum, Floyd Leon

CRUM, Floyd Leon Born April 11, 1929 in Aberdeen, Washington to Floyd and Helen Crum and died on May 23, 2014.

He was always known as Lee to his family and friends until he joined the Army when he began to go by Floyd.

After his enlistment he became a paratrooper at Fort Bragg, North Carolina in April of 1948.

Floyd was proud to say that he made 55 jumps.

During his service he also played the lead role in a military training film.

He was honorably discharged October of 1951.

Floyd held various jobs after his time in the Army.

He worked in construction, sales and spent many years as a skilled and artistic professional photographer.

Floyd was a very caring and outgoing man.

To him, no one was a stranger for long.

He made friends with people on first acquaintance and had a great sense of humor.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, LaBerta, after 62 years of marriage.

He had four children and immensely enjoyed his extended family.

His three sons, daughter, and their families are: Steve Crum; Jeff Crum and wife, Deborah; Kelli Cathcart and husband, Sam; and Lance Crum and wife, Jenifer.

His six grandsons are: Michael Cathcart; Cody Crum and wife, Rachel; Leon Crum; Levi Crum; Curtis Cathcart; and Alec Crum.

A memorial in his honor will be held on Friday, June 6th at 11:30am at the Chester Community Church, 11703 E. Dishman Mica Highway, Spokane Valley, WA.

Following this, all are welcome to join the family at the interment at the WA State Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Medical Lake, WA at 3:00pm.
