Education

 Chris Martin has been hired as vice president for finance and business affairs at North Idaho College. Previously, he served as vice president of finance and administration at Wichita Area Technical College in Wichita, Kansas.

 Idaho State University in Pocatello has named alumnus Sunil Wadhwani as a recipient of the Professional Achievement Award in the College of Pharmacy. Wadhwani is the acting associate director of the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Spokane. He has been with the VA since 2000.

 The Eastern Washington Alumni Association has announced the recipients of the 2014 EWU Alumni Awards as follows: Thomas Tiffany, retired CEO of Pathology Associates Medical Laboratories, Lifetime Achievement; Rick Allen, retired president and CEO of United Way of Pierce County, Alumnus of Service; Bart Mihailovich of the Center for Justice, Inspirational Young Alumnus; Albert Watson, retired colonel of the United States Army Reserves, Exceptional Military Service; Justin Von Hagel of Janicki Industries, Distinguished Career Mentor; Ryan Walters of Kiemle & Hagood Co., Greek Values and Service; Washington Trust Bank, Organization of the Year.

Finance

 Numerica Credit Union has promoted Lynn Ciani to executive vice president general counsel. Ciani has more than 30 years of experience in the financial industry and previously served as vice president general counsel. She is a member of the Washington, Idaho and California bars.

 Independent Wealth Connections has promoted Nicole Thomas to service manager. Thomas has more than 10 years of experience in the sales and services industries.

 Buddy Honshell, vice president and financial adviser with D.A. Davidson & Co. Spokane office, has earned the Certified Wealth Strategist designation. To earn this designation, Honshell completed intensive course work and demonstrated an advanced understanding of wealth management. He was been with D.A. Davidson since 2011 and also holds the Accredited Asset Management Specialist professional designation.

 Robin Harrison has joined Inland Northwest Bank as vice president and compliance officer. Previously, Harrison was with Panhandle State Bank and Washington Trust.

Law

 Larry J. Kuznetz has been elected secretary of the Washington Employment Lawyers Association.  Kuznetz is a partner with the firm Powell, Kuznetz & Parker, P.S. His practice focuses on employment litigation, including wrongful discharge, discrimination, sexual harassment, severance and non-compete agreements.

Nonprofit

 Bob Weis has been named executive director of the Human Rights Education Institute. In this role, Weis will provide supervision, direction, and control of the development, fundraising, program and operational activities of the organization. Previously, Weis was senior vice president of worldwide sales at Corsair in Fremont, California.

 Thomas Holman has been appointed chair of the board of directors of Partnering for Progress. Traci Anderson, Nancy Chappell and Greg Connolly have been named as new board members.

Real estate

 Jen Sawyer has joined Windermere’s Manito office as a broker. Previously, Sawyer was with Keller Williams.

 Amanda McDowell has joined Keller Williams Realty Spokane as a real estate agent. Previously, McDowell worked at Thai Bamboo.

Retail

 Etailz has hired Liz Pikalova as a pricing and cost technician, Melissa Windy as a human resources coordinator and Eric Strickland as a software developer.
