Age 89
He is survived by Dorothy, his spouse of 66 years.
He is survived by his children: Bruce ‘Bear’, Gene, Timothy and Paula Carson; brothers: Daniel (Jean) Carson, Thomas (Phyllis) Carson; and sister, Eilene Maloney; grandchildren: Amanda (Nicholas) Carson-Spychalski, and Victoria (Michael) Williams; six great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara.
Dick had a lifetime affiliation with the Boy Scouts of America, receiving the Silver Beaver Award.
He was an active member of the Northeast Kiwanis Club and held the post of Lt.
Governor in WA state.
He was a member of the Military Officer’s Association for nearly 30 years.
He served with the Northwest Neighborhood Association, having a park named after him by the city.
Dick was always fascinated by aviation and became a Naval Aviator during World War II, serving in both the Atlantic and Pacific theaters.
He continued his military affiliation by joining the Naval Reserves after the war and later joined the Washington Air National Guard.
He retired in 1985 after working many years as a recruiter.
A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, June 10th at Noon at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home.
