In brief: Kennewick siblings, 16 and 12, shot dead in home

KENNEWICK – Kennewick police have released the names of two youths found shot to death Monday in their home.

The children were identified Tuesday as siblings 16-year-old Kaitlin Austin and 12-year-old Ethan Austin.

Andrew Austin found the children when he came home Monday. Andrew Austin is the boy’s biological father and the girl’s stepfather.

Autopsies are scheduled today.

Investigators say four people were living in the house, the two children and the mother and father.

Boy, 16, tells police he killed, buried dad

TACOMA – Police searching the grounds of a Tacoma home where a 16-year-old boy said he buried his father confirmed they had found a body.

The News Tribune reported police spokeswoman Loretta Cool said the death was being investigated as a homicide. She declined to say whether the body was buried or exactly where outside the home it was found Tuesday afternoon.

The boy called police Tuesday and said he killed his father. KOMO-TV said the boy was taken away in a patrol car.

The father had been reported missing Saturday by his wife.

Officials suspect murder-suicide

Vancouver, Wash. – Monday’s shooting at a North Image house is being investigated as an apparent domestic violence murder-suicide, according to Vancouver Police Department Cmdr. Dave King.

Danny and Sandra Luster were found dead in their house about 5:30 a.m. The family’s dog was also found dead.

The couple’s son, Matt Luster, suffered a gunshot wound and remains in critical condition.
