Obituary: Muzatko, Edward J.
(Age 70) God took our father Ed Muzatko to heaven on June 19, 2014 after he lost his battle with cancer.
Ed was born the fourth out of five children to Al and Mary Muzatko on September 3, 1943.
His mother Mary passed away three years later in child birth.
Shortly after, Martha Sprute married AL Muzatko on January 10, 1948 and become Ed’s mom.
She inherited Ed’s four other siblings Don Muzatko, deceased, John Muzatko (Lilian), Marianne Wren (Jake), and Alice Mackleit (Dennis).
Ed’s family grew and four more siblings were born, James Muzatko (Melanie), Linda Peterson, deceased, Sue Peschel (Frank), and Debbie Cozzetto (Dan).
Ed’s father Al passed away when Ed was just 13 years old.
His mom Martha remarried on August 4, 1962 to Pete Markarian and they had Ed’s final sibling Chuck Markarian (Barbara).
Ed Joined the Navy right out of high school and served his country for four years.
He then moved back to Spokane and married his bride Darlene Wilcox on June 15, 1968.
They created a loving family with three children, Brian Muzatko, Wendy Sandner (Brian), and Josh Muzatko (Taylor).
Ed enjoyed his two beautiful grand babies Jayse Muzatko and Piper Sandner the last two years of his life.
Ed worked as an electrical salesman his entire career finishing out his work at Nord’s Electric.
He coached football at St. Thomas More and coached basketball for the CYO.
Ed was an avid fisherman and a proud member of The Little Goose Gang.
He authored five books and had a true passion for writing.
In his later years he fully enjoyed being a member of the Shoes and Brews summer horse shoe league.
Ed loved his family, friends, and his God.
Ed touched the lives of so many people and will be missed greatly.
A Vigil Service will be held on Thursday, June 26 at 7pm at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 4420 N. Jefferson.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 27 at 10 am, also at St. Francis of Assisi with the committal to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
Donations can be offered in his name to “The Centennial Fund” at St. Francis of Assist Catholic Church.
