Obituary: Roberts, Arthur D

Age 93

ROBERTS, Arthur D (Age 93) Passed away on June 18, 2014 in Rathdrum, ID and was born on November 25, 1920 in Spokane, WA to Fredrick C. and Mary E. Roberts.

He is survived by his five children, Pauline M. Garner of Newcastle, WA., Phyliss A. Roberts of Auburn, WA., Michael L. Roberts of Spokane, Barbara K. McMillian of Aurora, CO and Sandra D. Moratti of Everett, WA; nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis Roberts.

Arthur graduated from Lewis and Clark High School, Spokane in 1940.

He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII in the Pacific Theater of War from 1940 to 1945 and joined the U.S. Navy Reserve Active Duty from 1947 to 1963 serving as a weather forecaster.

In 1964, he joined the City of Spokane until 1985, where he worked as a city inspector and he was also a member of the Dishman Baptist Church, Spokane Valley, WA.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 27, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at Hazen & Jaeger Valley Funeral Home’s, Colonial Chapel, 1306 N. Pines Rd., Spokane Valley with Pastor Toby Tobin officiating.

Interment with Military Honors provided by the U.S.

Naval Honor Guard will follow at Spokane Memorial Gardens, Spokane.
