Obituary: Midkiff, Jean Grace

MIDKIFF, Jean Grace (Needham) Jean Grace (Needham) Midkiff, age 73, of Spokane Valley Washington, passed away on June 15th, 2014, of natural causes.

The funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on June 28th, 2014 at Spokane Baptist Church at 12817 East Broadway Ave., Pastor Joshua Tucker of Spokane Baptist will be officiating.

Jean was born in Spokane on July 25th, 1940.

She graduated from Otis Orchards High School and continued on to receive an Associate Degree from Spokane Community College.

Jean was married to Sanford W. Purcell in June 1958; they were married six years.

Jean was then married to Ernie Midkiff in August 1973; they were married ten years.

Jean worked as a Chef for many different places like numerous nursing homes and Harrah’s and Circus Circus in Reno Nevada for 40 years total.

She enjoyed drawing and painting.

She was also actively involved in her church and cooking for her church family.

Jean is survived by four sons: Sanford Michael (Lonnie), Anthony Elvis, Danny Lee (Janet) and William Robert Purcell (Myrna).

She is also survived by her four sisters: Jody Martin, Lois Chavez, Janie Chenoweth and Lola Collinsworth.

Jean also has 10 grandkids and 18 great-grandkids and numerous nieces and nephews and friends.

Jean is preceded in death by her mother and father (Earl and Lola Needham); a sister (Betty) a granddaughter (Holly).

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to Spokane Baptist Church.

The family of Jean Grace (Needham) Midkiff wishes to thank the Doctors and nurses at both Sacred Heart Hospital and The Garden on University Nursing Home for their great compassion and hard work, while mom was in there care.

The family would also like to thank our aunts and cousins that were there for mom, when we could not be; I think that your presence were so comforting for her.
