Born to John and Teresa Sicilia August 18, 1934, John attended 5-Mile School and Mead High School.
His passion for driving trucks led him into a partnership with his father and for years they worked together.
On April 25th, 1953, John married his high school sweetheart and the love of his life, Linda Pehl.
Together they started a journey that would last 61 years and include 11 children, a farm, 50+years driving truck.
In 1966 they moved to Greenbluff where dad raised hay, cows, horses and kids and gave us a hands-on example of hard work, discipline and love of the land.
Papa loved to laugh and always had a story full of his own humor and commentaries.
For many years 3:00 Sunday afternoon meant spaghetti (cooked on the woodstove) and a dinner table full of as many opinions and debates as there were guests.
In his 79 years he saw many changes in this world.
The lessons he taught us and the value of truth, loyalty and love of family will stay with each of us as we move through our lives without him.
He left us a legacy of lasting love and commitment and we are proud and grateful to have had him in our lives…and always in our hearts.
His death closes a chapter in our family’s history and brings an end to a very special era.
Papa loved country music and would be glad to know his life epitomizes the words “That’s something to be proud of - a Life you can hang your hat on”.
