Obituary: Stenson, Charlene Marie

Age 62

STENSON, Charlene Marie With her husband Dale sitting at her bedside holding her hand, she went home to be with the Lord on June 22, 2014.

She was born to Vivian Ostert and Earl Stillar on July 20, 1951 in Glasgow, MT.

She attended grade school in Ulm, MT.

She moved to Spokane in 1963.

She attended Havermale and Glover junior highs and graduated from Shadle Park High School in 1969.

She married Dale Stenson, the love of her life, on May 7, 1971.

She attended SCC for medical record keeping.

She was employed by SHMC and then she went to Spokane Mental Health.

She worked there the rest of her career.

When she retired, because of her health, she was record keeping supervisor.

Charlene is survived by her husband Dale Stenson and her two children, Tricia Wadsworth and son-in-law Shawn of Lake Havasu, AZ, and Dale R. Stenson and daughter-in-law Gretchen of Spokane, WA.

Her greatest joy was her six grandchildren, Seth Wadsworth, Forest Wadsworth and Nicole Wadsworth, Brooke Stenson, Logan Stenson and Tyler Stenson, who affectionately called her “Grama Love”.

She is survived by her sisters, Earl Moore, Spokane, WA, Denise Schmitz, Williston, ND, Lotta Pearl (Dr. Don Pearl), Sequim, WA and Cheri Stillar (Roger Marmon), Spokane, WA; brothers Rick Stillar (Cheryl), Spokane, WA and Charlie Stillar, Inchelium, WA; her brother-in-law Joel Stenson (Terri), Spokane Valley, WA; and her stepmother Doris Stillar, Spokane, WA; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Charlene was preceded in death by her parents Earl Stillar and Vivian Ostert, her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Joel and June Stenson, her sister Lois Jean Brittenham, her nephew Josh Schmitz, and her Auntie Kae.

Charlene enjoyed doing lots of different crafts over the years: quilting, macrame, scrapbooking and ceramics.

She loved a good game of Gin Rummy, often being the winner.

She loved swimming in her backyard pool with friends and family and she loved her weekend trips over the years to Leavenworth, WA with her husband Dale.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Maddox and Dr. Chow for their excellent care and compassion they have shown Charlene throughout her illness.

Also Gentiva Hospice for their continued support during her last weeks.

The family also would like to thank everyone for their prayers and cards of encouragement that they sent to Charlene.

She loved the love that came with them…A special thanks to Fr.

Robert Anthony Creech for coming to her home and easing her heart in the last days of her life here on earth.

Her funeral service is Saturday, June 28, 2014 at 11:00 AM at St. Gregorios Orthodox Church, 2803 N. Lincoln (corner Lincoln and Grace).

Charlene will be missed dearly by all who knew her…
